A shower, while necessary, isn't always the most relaxing part of your day. With all that's going on in your life, you don't always have the time to just stand there and soak up the suds, the steam, and clear your mind. That's where bath time comes in! We know what you're thinking... you haven't taken a bath in years. What are we, five? Sadly, no, but grown ups can bathe too ya know (sans rubber ducky and bubbles)! And here to help you relax in the comfort of your own tub is the ULTIMATE DIY milk bath that will have you forget all about your job, your chores, and all the other not-so-fun things that come with adulthood.

In addition to their relaxation benefits (and helping you forget about your worries), milk baths leave your skin feeling soft, refreshed and incredibly moisturized. Hey, if Cleopatra could take them daily, we're sure you can find the time to try one! So, get ready to light some candles and grab these items ...

  • 2 cups powdered milk - for a soothing soak
  • ½ cup epsom salts - to relieve stress and sore muscles
  • ¼ cup baking soda - detoxifies the body
  • 10-15 drops essential oil - your favorite scent
  • 2 tablespoons coconut oil - optional (but highly recommended)

Combine all of your dry ingredients while you run a warm bath. As the water is running, add in the mixed ingredients and the drops of essential oil. To really elevate your milk bath and leave skin hydrated, add two tablespoons of coconut oil to the warm water and allow it to melt.

If it's before bedtime, try using The Body Shop Deep Sleep Comforting Milk Bath Float with chamomile and milk protein to help maintain restful sleep after your luxurious bath and enjoy! Once you're out of the tub, be sure to seal in moisture by using a rich body cream like Kiehl's Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter for the softest skin you've ever had!
